What makes this zoo special is that it depicts Alpine animals in historical and contemporary form. The ALPINE ZOO, a theme zoo, is the world's only zoo that presents such a complete collection of European Alpine animals in enclosures, aquariums and outdoor terrariums.

The easiest way to get to the Alpine Zoo is to take the
Sightseer shuttle bus that is - just like the admission to the zoo - included in the
Innsbruck Card. Car parking next to the zoo is limited.
The new IVB bus route W is operating daily every half an hour between 7.00 am and 10.00 pm from the Marketplace to the Alpine Zoo.
